The Sprint may be our shortest distance race, but it’s still a favorite among both new and returning racers. It’s the perfect distance for those looking to start their Spartan journey. The Sprint also allows returning racers a manageable distance to see how far they can push themselves. Delivering 20-23 obstacles over 3-5 miles, you'll never run the same race twice. Once you complete the sprint you are 1/3 on your Spartan TRIFECTA: The ultimate Spartan achievement.

Spartan Race isn't just for adults. Our Spartan Kids Race offers two distances for the little Spartans in your life. Based on age, our Kids races have obstacles in them just like the grown up versions. Come watch your future Spartans run, jump, and play just like they're supposed to.

Spartan's military roots run deep. This August, we salute our history with a groundbreaking Spartan event in association with West Point USMA, an unbreakable cornerstone of American military history. Here, grit is the rule, not the exception, so we kindly ask that you either leave your fears at home or face them on the course.

Top Reasons to Take on This Course

1. Established in 1801 by President Thomas Jefferson, West Point Academy became alma mater to some of the greatest American Military and exploration heroes in history: President Grant and President Eisenhower, Generals Patton, MacArthur and Custer and even Astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Visit the central campus for scores of monuments, historic sites and awe-inspiring, Norman-style buildings.

2. Take a boat to visit scenic and historic Constitution Island, an important landmark of the Revolutionary War, for a relaxing post-race walk. See the place where George Washington anchored a massive chain that stretched across the Hudson River to block British marine vessels.

3. Take a long active-recovery hike through the trails of Harriman State Park for invigorating fresh air and breathtaking, panoramic mountain views.
