AROO! AROO! AROO! Mit dem antiken Schlachtruf der Spartaner kehrt das Reebok Spartan Race 2018 nach Oberndorf in Tirol in die Tourismusregion Kitzbüheler Alpen zurück. Nach dem großen Erfolg im September 2017, bei der fast 9.000 Spartaner erneut für einen Teilnehmer-Rekord bei einem Rennen dieser Art in der Alpenrepublik sorgten, steigt die dritte Auflage genau ein Jahr später rund um das Stöcklfeld in Oberndorf zwischen Kitzbüheler Horn und dem Steinbruch der Hartsteinwerke Kitzbühel.
Wieder im Programm: Trifecta-Wertung, Spartan Festival, Hurricane Heat und Spartan Juniors Race
Organisation und Tourismusverband setzen auf das erfolgreiche Event-Konzept der vergangenen Jahre. Rund um die sportlichen Wettkämpfe wird ein attraktives Rahmenprogramm für die ganze Familie geboten. Bereits am Freitagnachmittag ist das Festivalgelände geöffnet. Und am frühen Sonntagmorgen steigt erneut das Spezial-Format „Hurricane Heat“, bei dem vier harte Stunden lang Spartaner und Trainer im Team gemeinsam einen Parcours absolvieren.
Für den Läufer-Nachwuchs im Alter von vier bis elf Jahren steht am Freitag wieder ein Juniors Race auf dem Programm. Und für die Zuschauer gibt es auf dem Spartan-Festival in Oberndorf eine Challenge, bei der Mann und Frau verschiedene Hindernisse ausprobieren können. Catering-Stände sorgen für das leibliche Wohl. Darüber hinaus steigt am Samstagabend eine Finisher-Party mit DJ-Musik.
Angeboten werden bei dem TRIFECTA-Wochenende erneut alle drei SPARTAN Distanzen. Dabei ist nicht nur absoluter Profisport angesagt! Das SPARTAN SPRINT-Rennen ist für all jene, die fünf bis sieben Kilometer laufen können und Spartan-Luft schnuppern wollen – Fun und Teamgeist stehen hier im Mittelpunkt. Der 13+ Kilometer lange SPARTAN SUPER-Wettbewerb umfasst bis zu 30 Hindernisse und richtet sich an sportlich ambitionierte Spartaner. Gleichzeitig ermöglichen die Veranstalter mit dem SPARTAN BEAST den Fans des Obstacle Cours Racings die selten angebotene und daher begehrte Königsdistanz mit mehr als 23 Kilometer Laufstrecke und bis zu 40 Hindernissen.
