The Sprint may be our shortest distance race, but it’s still a favorite among both new and returning racers. It’s the perfect distance for those looking to start their Spartan journey. The Sprint also allows returning racers a manageable distance to see how far they can push themselves. Delivering 20-23 obstacles over 3-5 miles, you'll never run the same race twice. Spartan Race is making its long awaited Michigan debut at the Iconic Michigan International Speedway. Opened in 1968, this venue hosts several NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races, including the FireKeepers Casino 400 and the Pure Michigan 400. The track and its surrounding property boasts 1,400 acres of terrain. As one of the flatter courses on the Spartan circuit, expect a quick, obstacle-heavy course, placing an even bigger burden on obstacle failures and the time spent destroying burpees. After all, it's only fitting that this "Speedway" provide a fast and furious race.

TOP REASONS TO TAKE ON THIS COURSE:

1. Brooklyn, MI is known for breathtaking rolling green landscapes, including scenic lakes that surround Cambridge Junction Historic State Park and Hayes State Park, both just a stone’s throw from Michigan International Speedway.

2. Just 75 miles from Detroit, you could check out the city after you’ve conquered the race.

3. If you’re feeling thirsty for something other than water after the race you could head to the Cherry Creek Winery — a winery in the countryside that features premium handcrafted wines.
